Maize USD 266 daily rapid COVID testing clinic

With our limited supply of COVID rapid testing kits, Maize USD 266 must temporarily close the before- and after-school drive-through COVID testing clinic. The clinic will be closed beginning Wednesday, Jan. 19 until further notice. The clinic will remain open as scheduled beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 before closing Wednesday, Jan. 19.

Those who are experiencing COVID symptoms or must be tested to come to school because of a high-risk household contact may seek clinical testing elsewhere or stay home until testing kits again become available. Students and employees should not come to school/work seeking a COVID test.

It is unclear when testing kits will be available and the district will be able to reopen the clinic, but we are hopeful to receive our allotment later this week. The district is prepared to retrieve testing kits from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) in Topeka as soon as they become available. Please stay tuned.

With COVID cases prevalent in our district last week, please remember:

  • Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms.
  • Stay home if you are awaiting results of a COVID test.
  • The district requires clinical test results, not at-home test results.
  • Testing is not available through Maize USD 266 for parents and community members.

Those seeking testing elsewhere may:

Thank you for your patience while we deal with this shortage and for your help keeping OneMa1ze healthy and limiting the spread of COVID in our schools.
