2023 SUMMER DRIVER EDUCATION

Enrollment Information and Mandatory Parent/Student Meeting

USD 266 Maize Schools will once again offer summer driver education.  Any student who turns 14 on or before Thursday, June 1, 2023 and has or will graduate 8th grade by June 1st will be eligible to enroll in summer driver education. 

Students will have 31 days (April 12th - May 12th) to complete the coursework online through Google Classroom. Students failing to complete the online portion by May 12th will be dropped from the class and forfeit the $200 enrollment fee. Students will also complete at least five, one hour driving sessions starting no earlier than May 30th (schedule to be determined after class begins). We prefer that students get an instructional permit at the DMV in advance of the class and spend as much time as possible driving in safe locations with their parents. Practicing with parents before class starts is a plus considering that driver's education is only five hours of driving.
