  • Note From Our Director

A little bit more than just installing applications or repairing computers. Today, the technology staff is charged with creating and maintaining a robust, secure, and reliable voice/video/data networking system for the USD 266 School District community – students, staff, and parents. Staff and students utilize this resource daily via more than 5000 networked computers and over a dozen computer labs/computer-based classrooms. Interactive devices such as LCD projectors, interactive whiteboards and notepads, student response systems, and document cameras enable teachers to tap vast online resources for new, up-to-date teaching resources and methods. USD 266 networks provide staff and students with immediate access to more information than ever before.

Numerous technology resources are used to help achieve USD 266 goals of improving communication between schools, teachers and parents. Email communication has become essential in our schools and classrooms, and all district staff members are provided email accounts. Online applications like Skyward, our district student information and grade book tool, provide parents with online access to monitor their student’s academic progress. Improved data collection and reporting methods are being used to enhance the quality of education for every student. A new and improved website has being implemented to provide more relevant and up-to-date information on classroom, school and district activities.
