Attendance
A student's attendance record is an integral part of his/her overall grade. Students with regular attendance benefit from in-class learning experiences and generally will be more successful in their classes. Students are expected to be present and punctual for all classes throughout the year.
When a student is absent, it is the responsibility of the parents or student (if he/she is 18 years of age) to call the school on the day of the absence. At the high school level, if the attendance office is not contacted within 24 hours to verify the absence, it is counted as unverified, which places credit for the course in potential jeopardy. An automated call will be placed to the student's primary residence for unverified absences.
